What is Feedback Magazine?
Feedback Magazine is an all ages music publication. Our first issue came out in October 2008, and is designed to focus on the local music scene throughout the Midwest. It's also great for touring bands that want to get their name out before playing in this area. Each magazine has write ups on several local bands and occasional write ups about businesses involved in the music scene. We have a column just for drummers, one for those who play guitar, a CD and show review section and a DIY (Do it Yourself) section that covers a different area each issue ranging from topics such as how to produce an inexpensive quality demo and how to put together a professional looking promo pack to how to set up a tour. We advertise local businesses that can help you with anything from buying equipment and ordering punk buttons to record labels that you can shop your band to. We have a "static" section where we ask a bunch of bands the same question and see what each has to say about the topic. Have something to say, something you want to write about and get off your chest, contact us and maybe we will feature you as a guest writer. We welcome our readers to submit write ups and if space allows, we will publish your write ups. This magazine is for the local band and we want to know what you have to say. We also encourage you to send us your CDs to review. CDs can be sent to us at Feedback P.O. Box 904 Antioch, Il 60002.
Over 2,000 copies of the magazine hit the streets every other month are distributed through local all-age venues, music stores (including Midwest Sam Ash locations), restaurants, businesses, and nationally through Sound Faith Music. (A distribution list can be found on our myspace page.) We would love to have you in one. We keep ad rates SUPER low so that young bands can afford to advertise. Copies of the issue are free but we rely on your ads to be able to publish the zine so support us so that we can continue to support the local scene.
